Yes, so after this week I'll be going to a sleep-away writing camp! AND IM SO FREAKIN' EXCITED ABOUT IT! I'll get to bring my computer and everything, and there will be internet, so I'll post all finished assignments in my gallery and any updates on how it is in my journal. YAYY

Other than that, I would just like to point out that Tamora Pierce is an amazing author, and everyone should read her books. -kmff- Thank you.

A writing camp? Sounds fun. Wish I knew about something like that here. I miss having assigned work. Some of my best stuff came out of having an assignment and a teacher to impress xD

Tamora Pierce? I've never heard of her, but I will look her up next time I'm at Barnes & Noble :3

yes, look her up. she's amazing.

and i know! actually, last time I had an assigned work, I didn't do so well, but that's because in the middle of the assignment we switched teachers, who had different requirments and different standards, so everyone's grade dropped immensly.

except for this one guy who i really hate, who happened to basically take a greek myth, make the guy a cripple, and re-wrote said greek myth. he got an A+. i was ready to shoot him, and my teacher, who was too stupid to realize that he had no imagination whatsoever.

that POed me sooo much. xDD

Yeah, I know what you mean. In English last year, we got a student teacher in the middle of the year and she changed a lot of stuff so that I didn't even know what to do... And my English teacher had such a strange way of doing things even before the student teacher came in! It didn't really affect my grade as much as it irritated me that I had to get used to a new way of doing things...

Yeah, people like that shouldn't even be writing. I mean, that's just plain wrong. It's one thing to write a story based on a Greek myth, but to completely re-write it.... That just shows that you can copy stuff... not come up with it on your own. I mean, why not take the myth and base a modern-day story off one of the prophecies made by one of the Muses or something...? That would have been a lot more original.
